Best Established Research Paper - 2011 International Conference on Networking, Learning and Entrepreneurship: I recieved this award along with my co-author Dr. Eoin O'Leary for a paper entitled "The Interaction between Internal R&D Performance and External Networking for Innovation: Evidence from the Irish CIS". The paper was presented at the Sustainable Learning Network Networks Ireland and Wales (SLNIW) 2nd Annual International Conference on Networking, Learning and Entrepreneurship in Waterford Institute of Technology. Best Presentation by an Early Career Researcher/PhD Student at the RSAI British and Irish Section Annual Conference 2009: I received this award for the best presentation by an early career researcher from the Regional Studies Association International British and Irish Section at their annual conference in Limerick in 2009. Conference Organisation
42nd Annual Conference of the Regional Science Association International - British and Irish Section: I was on the organisation committee for the 42nd annual conference of the RSAI-BIS which was held in Sidney Sussex College at the University of Cambridge on the 20th to the 22nd of August 2013.
One Day Conference on Regional Economic Resilience: Co-hosted by the Institute for Business Development and Competitiveness, School of Economics, UCC (of which I am the representative), the Irish Branch of the Regional Studies Association and the South West Regional Authority. The conference was held on the 22nd of February 2013 in Millennium Hall in Cork City.
Irish Society of New Economists 9th Annual Conference: I was a member of the local organising committee for the 9th annual conference of the Irish Society of New Economists (ISNE). This was held on the 23rd and 24th of August in University College Cork. Approximately 70 conference papers were presented, with an opining address by Professor Connell Fanning (University College Cork) and two keynote addresses by Professor Bernard Fingleton (University of Cambridge) and Professor Geoffrey Hodgson (University of Hertfordshire).
